Snorkel telehandlers for Gerken

German rental company Gerken has taken delivery of four new six metre/2,600kg Snorkel SR626E all-electric telehandlers.

The Snorkel SR626E - built for Snorkel by Faresin - is completely emission free operation and low noise, with power coming from an 80 volt/300Ah lithium-ion battery pack allowing it to operate continuously for up to six hours between charges. The on-board charger offers full overnight charging. The units were equipped with Euro fork carriages, suspension seat and non-marking high-grip tyres in addition to the high level of standard equipment.

Gerken purchased the machines following a demonstration of the machine in mid-2021 on a construction site in central Düsseldorf, followed by a detailed product evaluation by the Gerken team. This led to the decision in December to add an initial four units to the rental fleet. Ordered through distributor Ahern Deutschland, the four telehandlers were delivered to Gerken from stock held in Weyerbusch, Germany and went straight to work.

Owner Christian Gerken said: “We would like to thank Ahern Deutschland very much for the uncomplicated cooperation and the fast delivery of the fully electric telescopic forklifts. The feedback we received from our customers was consistently positive and the rapid availability of the machines now makes it easy for us to integrate them into our rental fleet as quickly as possible."

Established in 1963, Gerken is based in Düsseldorf and runs a fleet of more than 6,500 aerial work platforms, spider cranes, telehandlers and forklifts alongside its general rental operation from more than 35 locations throughout Germany. It is one of Europe's leading providers of work platform rental with more than 9,000 machines.
