Solar powered lift

Finnish trailer lift manufacturer Dexter Lifts has unveiled a rubber tracked version of its 20ft XD800 trailer scissor lift powered by a solar panel. The unit was spotted by a reader at the Maxpo fair in Finland this week.

The Dexter DX 800 Solar

The DSX 800 has an eight metre working height, is 1.5 metre wide and has a 300kg platform capacity, with an 850mm roll out extension. As with the trailer version the unit uses outriggers for both levelling and we assume, and stability.

In the solar panel is supported by a Honda power pack/generator for days when the light is limited.

Whether it is a practical solution is questionable, and details at this stage are scant, but we will follow up when we receive more information.
