Passing truck incident

A man was seriously injured last Wednesday in Minneapolis, Minnesota, when a passing articulated/semi truck and trailer clipped the lower boom of the truck mounted lift he was working from, catapulting him out of the basket/bucket.

We assume from the information that we have received, that the man, 33, was not wearing a harness and fell to the ground.

The incident occurred in the Minneapolis suburb of Bloomington. Investigators have stated that the platform was set up on the pavement/sidewalk, but the knuckle between the lower and upper booms was protruding into the road and that the cordoning off was inadequate.

The latest report says the man remains in hospital where he was reported to be in a critical condition. The truck driver, 59, was unhurt.
