Discover Battery teams up with BBL

Canadian battery manufacturer Discover Battery has appointed BBL Batteries as its exclusive sales & distribution partner for the UK and Northern Ireland.

Discover Battery was established in Alberta in 1949 as a battery distribution business, and began making its own batteries in 1999, since then it has grown into an increasingly global battery developer and manufacturer with a focus on high end lead acid/AGM and lithium batteries for transport, motive power applications such as aerial work platforms and golf carts as well as energy storage. It manufactures in China, Taiwan and Korea.

BBL Batteries was established in Bristol in 1972 as a battery distributor. Today it operates from five locations in South West England but covers the whole of the UK offering a wide range of batteries from many leading brands as well as its own brand Avon. It also assembles battery packs for specific equipment.

Discover Battery chief executive Lee Adams said: “We selected BBL Batteries to distribute our products due to their extensive industry knowledge and well established distribution network. Their coverage throughout the UK and Ireland helps us to extend our reach into this strategic region.”

BBL founder and managing director Graham Bultitude said: “We are delighted to be working directly with yet another leading manufacturer. We shall quickly look to promote and establish Discover products throughout the UK and Ireland. Our key focus for this product will be on the Industrial Sectors including aerial work platforms, floor care, electric utility vehicles and automated guided machines.”
