Dutch rental company Doornbos has taken delivery of the last units in a 21 unit order for Genie boom lifts.
The order, supplied through local distributor HDW, included 17 straight telescopic boom lifts - of which six were Trax four module tracked models - two 45ft S-45XC Trax, two 65ft S-65XC Trax and two 80ft S-80J Trax.

The wheeled telescopics included two 60ft S-60FE hybrid units, seven 65ft S-65XC dual capacity models and two 85ft S-85XCs. Four articulated boom lifts made up the balance of the order, two narrow 34ft Z-34N 22 and two Z-34RT 4WD Rough Terrain booms. Several of the XC and Trax machines have been supplied with the four metre wide platform option which has become popular for certain applications such as façade work. The fact that a greater surface area can be covered between machine moves is also proving popular.

Established in 1938 Rotterdam based Doornbos started out as a fruit and vegetable trader, while Bob and Frank Doornbos, the sons of founder John began trading in heavy machinery following the end of hostilities in 1945.
Bob’s sons Rob and John and Frank’s sons Dennis and Frank began working in the business in the 1970s, but in 1980 the four decided to split the business with
Dennis taking the crane rental division. He added aerial lifts, fork trucks and mini crawler cranes in 1990 and a marine vacuum pump/pressure cleaning business in 2000.
Since 2014 the company has been managed by the fourth generation of the Doornbos family - Denise, Frank and Stuart. Today the company runs a rental fleet that includes a wide range of aerial work platforms, alongside telehandlers - both fixed frame and 360 degree - mini crawler cranes and fork trucks.
