Genie opens new training centre
Genie has opened its new 1,675 square metre Oklahoma City Training Centre, adding to its current training capacity.
The new facility is located for ease of travel from either coast, and joins the existing Genie training centre at Genie headquarters in Redmond, Washington.
The Oklahoma City facility has an amphitheatre-style training room to comfortably seat up to 12 students. The classes are intentionally small, allowing the trainer to focus his attention on the student. A variety of large Genie products are on site and available for classroom and hands-on technical experience. Two three-day classes are available each month for which the company charges $500 per person, with lunch included.

The company said: “Technicians will gain an in depth knowledge of Genie control systems through activities including schematic reading and connection software use. They will be able to proficiently demonstrate the ability to calibrate, adjust and troubleshoot Genie scissors, telehandlers and boom lifts with the aid of available tools such as schematics, service manuals, connection software and tech tips.”
Bob Bartley, director of product support added: “It comes down to this: Properly trained technicians means greater uptime for your equipment resulting in greater return on capital invested. Training your team is an investment which repays in the long run, especially in the rental industry.”
