Fit for purpose?
We received a photograph this morning of a tower crane that has been erected on the prestigious Spencer Dock development in Dublin, Ireland.
We understand that he crane has recently been erected and due to very close interference tolerances the erectors decided that he counterweight sections could not be mounted in the normal way due to the amount of underhang.

Is this fit for purpose?
They therefore stacked the sections on top of the rear mast and lashed them down with Nylon straps.
We would be very interested to hear from those readers who consider themselves to be experts on tower crane erection if you feel this is acceptable practice and fit for purpose?
