Alfasi orders Nifty SD

The crane, access and telehandler rental division of Australian based Alfasi group has placed an order for a number of Niftylift’s 21 metre SD210 - Self-Drive – semi self-propelled boom lifts. The lightweight units are self- propelled when stowed, but use outriggers for stability when elevated, rather than a large counterweight.

According to the manufacturer the SD concept is selling well this year in Australia with a number of companies adding them to their rental fleets. The three model range includes the 12 metre SD120T weighing 2,260kg, the 17 metre SD170 which is 2,750kg and the 21 metre SD210 at 3,950kg.

A Niftylift SD120 is collected by a transport company that seems to have a sense of humour

Tim Ward of Niftylift said: “Although this SD type machine has been sold in the UK and are available from hire from a number of companies, it is really the Australian market that has really grasped this concept. Maybe it’s their openness to new ideas or their entrepreneurial spirit that has made this range popular “.

Alfasi Hire operates from locations in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane and runs a fleet of over 1,000 units. It is a division of the Alfasi construction and engineering group. The fleet includes booms, scissors, spider lifts and trailer lifts largely from Genie and JLG, telehandlers and mobile cranes.
