Jim Thomas to retire
Jim Thomas senior manager customer support at JLG Europe is to retire next week after 28 years with the company
Thomas joined JLG in 1989 as a Design Engineer, progressing through various management functions within the customer support group. During his time at JLG he has made a significant impact in several areas of the business. In the early days he was involved in the development of EN280 as Europe moved towards 1992 and the single market and had to deal with some of the oddball technical demands that were being thrown up at that time.

He appears though to have found his true forte working more closely with customers as he moved into customer support and became a firm customer advocate, introducing improvements in product design and manufacturing processes. He will be remembered by many dealers and customers for his professionalism, honesty and knowledge. He will most certainly be missed.
Thomas leaves the company at the same time as his long term Scottish colleague Ron Jackson, both of whom can be contacted on their usual email addresses until the end of the month.
Talking of the two departures JLG said: “Whilst we will miss the knowledge, enthusiasm and that wonderful Scottish sense of humour which Ron and Jim shared with us over many memorable years, we wish them both the very best for a long retirement. We would like to thank them both for the many years of exceptional and dedicated service – The bar has been set high for those who follow”.
Jim, a great hole is now in the JLG product knowledge for Europe and the UK with your retirement. You have been the strong voice for the European cause for JLG and the European Standards.
With yours and Ron Jacksons retirement, and our sad loss of Patrick Bastings this year, their seems to be a huge loss to the product knowledge and customer perspective for JLG and the other associated product management for all of the work platform and telehandler industry. It will never be the same.
Have a great retirement. Regards, David Single ( JLG retired).

Well they say things happen in 3`s, Mike Evans, Ron Jackson, Jim Thomas, that's a total of 105 years experience lost from the Powered Access industry. Jim, Ron, it has been great working with you during my 35 years in the industry. You are both true gentleman and scholars with great business enthusiasm. Have a great retirement.
