Fatal fall caused by passing truck

A man died after falling from an aerial lift or boom truck last Thursday on the Southwest Side of Chicago.

The man, identified as Keith Darnell, was in the platform of a boom truck or aerial lift stringing a steel cable over the street. A passing truck caught the wire causing Darnell, 69, to be flipped out of the platform, he fell to the ground and died from multiple injuries after having been taken to a local hospital.

Information on this accident is sketchy, the above is all we have - one assumes that the man was not wearing a harness or his lanyard was not attached.

To clarify this very poor article, Keith was in a bucket truck working for AT&T, he was 41 not 69. He WAS harnessed!!! He was thrown 70 to 100 feet out of the bucket that was 20ft high. His harness clip WAS BROKE!!!! He had 3 co-workers who did not see this happen???? How does that happen!!!! Keith's death was unnecessary, he was the lead man on this crew, knew his job better then anyone and was the safety lead for his garage. How can you say he wore no harness?? Were you there to report on this when it happened????
