Two more acquisitions for Kiloutou
French international rental group Kiloutou has signed agreements to acquire two new companies, one in Denmark and one in Italy. Both are subject to the usual conditions, while the Danish deal requires regulatory approval from the Danish antitrust authorities.
In Denmark it has agreed to acquire Thor Jorgensen, a heavy earthmoving equipment and telehandler rental company based in Rødekro, southern Jutland. Established by owner Thor Jorgenseni in October 2008 it operates throughout Jutland, with around 100 large machines and 100 employees. Revenues are said to be in the region of DK150 million, (€20 million). The business will be merged with Kiloutou’s existing subsidiary GSV, not only extending its geographical coverage, but also taking it into a new equipment sector.
Speaking of the deal Thor Jørgensen said: “We have reached a point where a larger organisation is needed if we are to grow further. Thor Jørgensen and GSV are therefore a perfect match. We have the same beliefs about customer service. We work in the same way and we share a long list of values – and both companies put people before machines when it comes to describing who we are. I am therefore proud to announce the acquisition of my company and look forward to becoming a part of GSV.”
In Italy the company is set to acquire F.I.M, an aerial lift and telehandler rental business operating along the Turin to Milan corridor, owned and managed by president Vincenzo Basilicata. The deal is intended to strengthen Kiloutou Italia's aerial lift range and reinforce its network in the Piedmont region. It will also support the Kiloutou Italia location in Novara west of Milan.
Basilicata said: "We are thrilled with our entry into the Kiloutou group. This transaction will allow our team to become part of a structured, high quality network, ushering in a new phase of growth in Piedmont, fully respecting the service values that have always distinguished us. I am happy to see my son and his team continue their journey with new resources, investments, and prospects."
Kiloutou in Denmark
Kiloutou
acquired GSV in 2022 from private equity firm Catacap. At the time it was Denmark’s largest rental company. It now operates from 19 locations with staff of 550.
Kiloutou in Italy
The group
moved into Italy in July 2017, through the acquisition of four companies, including Cofiloc and Euronol. This was followed by the acquisition of Bergamo based aerial lift, spider crane and telehandler rental company
Elevo in 2018 and aerial lift and fork truck rental company
Sticar in October 2019. Today Kiloutou Italia operates from 23 locations with 270 employees.
Executive chairman Olivier Colleau said: "These two new acquisitions underscore our commitment to expanding our reach by boosting the Group's growth trajectory through external growth. The Italian market has a bright future, with major projects offering promising prospects. In Denmark, our leadership position must be continually challenged to maintain our position in a resilient and attractive market."
International director Thibaut Le Chatelier added: "We are committed to establishing a lasting presence in the countries where we operate. The choice of companies we acquire is always driven by our ambition to accelerate our geographic expansion or complement our offering. Furthermore, we attach great importance to selecting companies that share common values, based on collaboration, customer proximity, and team spirit."
Kiloutou now generates 40 percent of its €1.25 billion revenues outside of France. Over the next five years, it aims to raise this to at least 50 percent and be among the top three rental companies in all the countries where it operates— Denmark, Portugal, France and Spain.
