German crane rental company Schmidbauer has taken delivery of a 450 tonne Liebherr LTM 1450-8.1 All Terrain crane.
The deal is the first part of a large order for Liebherr cranes which will include 50 tonne LTC 1050-3.1s, 60 tonne LTM 1060-3.1s, 90 tonne LTM 1090-4.2s, 130 tonne LTM 1130-5.1s and 230 tonne LTM 1230-5.1 as well as a MK88 mobile self-erecting tower crane and two 700 tonne LTM 1650-8.1s.
The eight axle LTM 1450-8.1 features an 85 metre main boom, with an option of up to 84 metres of lattice jib and includes the Variobase outrigger set up system and VarioBallast counterweight. It can travel within 12 tonne axle loads complete with main boom, outriggers and winch.
Chairman Werner Schmidbauer said: “This 450 tonne new crane adds a particularly flexible and economic machine to our fleet, which features the latest technology. Its short set up times, 85 metre boom and VarioBallast and VarioBase systems make the crane extremely versatile.”
Based in Gräfelfing, near Munich, Schmidbauer runs a fleet of All Terrain, crawler, loader and spider cranes from more than 20 locations across Germany. It also has locations in Estonia, Finland and France.
