Crane tips in Canada
A five axle All Terrain crane toppled over in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada this morning injuring its operator. The accident happened at a construction site near the waterfront.
Although the crane destroyed a fence surrounding a parking lot and damaged nearby cars, no one else was injured.
It is thought the crane a 200 model belonging to locally based Irving Equipment, one of Canada's largest crane rental operations, was moving wind turbine components at the time of the accident.

The 66 year old crane operator received minor injuries and was taken to hospital.
While it is not clear what caused the accident form the information supplied, we understand that it is outrigger related, it seems that the front left hand beam gave way causing the crane to tip over backwards.
