Hertz moves into Hawaii

Hertz Equipment has acquired Western Machinery, an equipment rental company based in Kapolei, Oahu, Hawaii.

Founded in 1985 Western Machinery has locations on the islands of Oahu, Hawaii and Maui and covers a wide range of equipment for rental and sales, it si the distributor for JLG, Bobcat, Liebherr, Linkbelt

Hertz chief executive Mark P. Frissora said: "We're excited to have acquired Western Machinery as this marks Hertz Equipment Rental's first foray into the Hawaiian market. The Hawaiian construction market is estimated to be a $3.4 billion market. By acquiring Western Machinery, Hertz will be able to introduce new product lines, including aerial lifts, pump, power and general rental while tapping into opportunities in the industrial and entertainment services sector."
