A belated goodbye to Malcolm Cardy

While it was a well known fact that Malcolm Cardy, the long time European divisional manager for Genie Industries, was to retire from Genie and the access industry this year, we had not realised until now that he had quietly slipped off in September.

Several Vertikal readers had commented that they had not seen him lately at trade shows, some discreet Enquiries confirmed that he had headed off to Missoula, Montana where, along with his wife Linda, he has established an “Oil and Spice” shop a franchise from a Dutch company specialising in gourmet cooking oils, spices and vinegars. A far cry from the aerial lift business and a far cry from anywhere in deepest Montana!

Malcolm Cardy was the first Genie employee in Europe joining the company in April 1983, originally based in Holland he moved to Genie HQ in Redmond Washington for a period in the 1990’s retuning to Holland where he remained until his retirement.

I am sure that many access industry veterans will join us in wishing Malcolm and Linda every success
