Sterling rates unchanged
The Bank of England has left interest rates unchanged today at 4.75 percent
The decision was in line with City expectations, with many analysts predicting that base rates will stay at 4.75% for the rest of the year. Rates have not changed since August.
The Bank's monetary policy committee began raising rates in November last year but five rate increases on the policy appear to have had the desired effect, particularly in cooling the UK property market.
