Linden Comansa launches new Luffers

Tower crane manufacturer Linden Comansa has announced the launch of two new models of luffing-jib cranes that will be available by the end of April.

The new cranes, the LCL 310 and LCL 280, along with the LCL 190 unveiled last year at Bauma, form a new family of luffing-jib Comansa tower cranes which will be completed later this summer with the launch of a fourth model, the LCL 165.

The design and of the whole series has been based on a modular system with most jib sections being interchangeable between the cranes. The tower sections are also interchangeable with the company’s Flat-Top cranes.

The new Linden Comansa LCL310 luffer

The new cranes have been designed specifically for ease of erection and transportation, and include features such as a front mounted hoist, a second emergency brake for the luffing mechanism and a counter jib mounted electrical cabinet. These features help keep the installation weights and the slewing radius of the counter-jib to a minimum. The hoisting and luffing cables also come preinstalled from the factory for faster installation of the crane.

The new models include all of the new features from the LCL 190, including level luffing - the electronic coordination between the luffing and hoisting functions allowing the operator to move the load horizontally at a push of the button by operating only the luffing movement; the hydraulic push and retention system, with a progressive force on the jib depending on luffed angle for smooth luffing function and the anti-slack system on the luffing cable tension.

The new Comansa includes a longer cab option

Each of the two cranes comes in three versions with 12, 18 or 24 tonnes maximum capacity. All come with 60 metre maximum jib lengths, between 2.6 and 3.5 tonnes capacity at the jib tip and 53 to 57 metres free standing heights.

The New longer Panoramic XL has also been tested on the LCL prototypes and will be available as an option. The cab retains all of the standard details of the standard panoramic cab, but is half a metre longer in order to provide more space for the operator, it also includes a small refrigerator, an air handling unit and space to place a microwave or any other small cooking appliance.
