Hi-Reach Manlift joins the Goscor Group
South African based fork truck and industrial equipment distributor Goscor Group has acquired a majority stake in powered access specialist Hi-Reach Manlift, the Genie and Custom Equipment distributor and rental company owned by George Landsberg and his partners.
The majority of Goscor’s equity is held by publicly quoted Imperial Holdings an automotive company with interests in car and commercial vehicle sales and car rental among things. Imperial bought into Goscor last June.
The acquisition gives Goscor, which distributes Doosan and Crown a solid entry into the work at height market.
Landsberg has been involved in the access industry for many years having started Johnson Access as an independent division of Johnson Crane hire in 1998. Landsberg and Neville Bell founded Hi-Reach Manlift in 2005 with the backing of HCI, one of Johnson’s investors, in order to distribute Genie branded products, including the full range of platforms, material lifts, lighting towers and telescopic handlers. The company also has an extensive service, replacement parts, refurbishment and rebuild business.
