New chairman at Kennards

Peter Lancken has taken over as chairman of Australian based rental company Kennards Hire.

Lancken, who was appointed to the job in July, was managing director of Kennards until he retired in 2009 after 14 years at the helm. He was invited to re-join the company at the end of last year as a non-executive director and was an obvious candidate for the role of chairman when current chairman John Thorn decided to move on after 18 months in the job.

Lancken joined Kennards in 1994 from GKN Australia where he was group managing director for three years. He is also a non-executive director and chairman of Property Link, a non-executive director and deputy chairman of CMA corporation and a non-executive director of Acrow Formwork and Scaffolding.
