Four Finns on cold tin roof

Spotted last week by a reader in Finland – four men working on an icy…snowy apex roof, without edge protection or boards to prevent falling through.

Ok its not a tin roof…poetic licence.... from what we can tell they are actually installing a new outer layer/covering, although it is far from clear.

Four roofworkers and no protection

While the roof does not appear to be a steep as some are, the picture still squeaks into our Death Wish series- if only for the ice and snow adding to the risk of the slope and the lack of any protection.

Vertikal Comment

This sort of job really requires people to be on the roof, it is not really suited to aerial lifts. However sensible precautions such as lanyards, edge protection or nets would make sense, a slip and one of these could be over the edge in the blink of an eye.
