HSS opens another supercentre

UK based rental company HSS Hire has opened a new ‘supercentre’ in Bristol which will become a Regional Distribution Centre.

The new premises is a 2,800 square metre (30,000 sqft) purpose-built facility located in the Aztec Business Park. It has large storage facilities on two levels which includes training facilities.

The new location joins the ‘Supercentre’ in Hove which opened last year and similar locations opened in the second half of 2009, in Camberley, Liverpool and Leeds. HSS says that it is looking to transform its small high-street branches to large industrial supercentres, in what it claims is: “An attempt to reaffirm its position as a logistical and technical partner to trade and business.”

The existing HSS branch in Bristol will be closed with members of staff transferring to the new site and more than 30 additional new jobs being created.

HSS chief executive Chris Davies said: “The new facility will enable us to deliver a bigger and better service to our customers across the South West and Wales as well as supporting out wider UK activity. We are committed to offering our customers more safety, availability, value and support as part of this commitment.”
