Terex reach stackers for Brazil

Terex Cranes has delivered two specially tailored TFC 46M HC reach stackers for a cargo-handling operation in the Port of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The units have been purchased by MultiRio Operaçoes Portuarias – one of Brazil’s leading port handling operators and part of the Multiterminais group which already owns 20 Terex reach stackers.

The TFC 46M HC has been built to operate both container handling and hook block applications

Based on the standard TFC 46M reach stacker the TFC 46M HC has been built to operate both container handling and hook block applications. It can lift 15 tonnes to a height of 11 metres, allowing it to stack up to seven full ISO dry containers on the first row and up to five full High Cube containers on the third row. When equipped with its hook block it can handle loads of up to 60 tonnes.

The units have been built with a 6.5 metre wheelbase and fitted with standard 18.00-25 tires. Gross weight is 75 tonnes with a standard top-pick spreader or 69 tonnes with a 60-tonne capacity hook block.

Terex said: “The units were specially adapted to suit the need of a specialised cargo-handling operation in the Port of Rio’s, Terminal II. It has set new performance records and offers longer reach and higher lifting capabilities than any other reach stacker currently available when equipped with a top-pick spreader.”

The units were produced at the Terex Crane facility in Montceau-les-Mines, France and delivered through its port equipment distributor Equiport.
