Aiming to be first in Romania

Romanian sales and rental company Industrial Access is aiming to open the first International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) training centre in Romania.

Technical manager Petrisor Vasilescu and chief executive Stefan Ponea have both successfully completed training for the IPAF operator and demonstrator courses 1b and 3a&b. The first professionals in the aerial lift industry in Romania to be so certified.

Industrial Access is now fully equipped to join the 450 or so existing IPAF training centres in providing operator training.

Ponea said: “I have been doing on site research on specialised centres in Western Europe and our evaluation shows that we are at least on the same level and in certain cases even surpassing them, from the point of view of the applied safety level and of the implemented protection system, in full compliance to the European legislation in force”.

Industrial Access has national coverage in Romania, with eight depots, plus three subsidiaries in Serbia, Moldova and Bulgaria. The company is looking to expand its market coverage in the Balkans, and is targeting a market share of 30 percent by end of 2012.
