Cooper back at Hird

Hull, UK-based mini crane, powered access and glazing equipment specialist Hird has re-appointed Carl Cooper to support the company’s growth in new machine sales.

Cooper will deal with the full range of equipment range with particular focus on Valla cranes. Hird is the sole UK and Ireland distributor.

Hird managing director Phil Hird said: “Carl has more than 15 years experience in the mini crane hire and sales sector, some of them spent here at Hird. He has a national reputation for his expertise on compact and mini cranes in general and Valla mini cranes in particular, so we are very pleased to have him on board.”

Cooper added: “You could call this a career hat-trick because I am coming back to Hird for the third time. Hird is a dynamic company and has come a long way in just a few years, opening new depots and developing a UK-wide profile. With Valla bringing out exciting new products, Hird and Valla make a perfect package for anyone using mini cranes.”

Cooper first joined Peter Hird and Sons in the early 1990s as a crane mechanic. After a spell away he returned as workshop manager in 2002, to play a key role in the company’s marketing of Valla cranes in the UK, the Middle East and the USA. He rejoins as Valla introduces the new 120 Evo, a new compact pick and carry crane.

Hird now operates from three locations in the UK - Hull, Pontefract and Surrey.

Good luck to you Carl.
