Zeppelin exit tower crane rental

Arcomet the Belgian based tower Crane Company, has purchased 300 tower cranes from MVS-Zeppelin and taken over its tower crane rental business. Arcomet’s Germany subsidiary, Krane KG Arcomet GmbH & Co, will continue to work with MVS-Zeppelins customers offering its services through the company’s national depot network.

MVS-Zeppelin has decided to concentrate its efforts on its core business of General rental, as the CAT Rental store franchise for Germany. A few larger cranes that were not included in the Arcomet deal have been sold on to overseas buyers.

This acquisition takes the Arcomet tower crane rental fleet up to over 1,300 units, making it one of the worlds largest. Arcomet has operations in Benelux, France, the UK, Ireland, Germany, Italy and the USA.

MVS-Zeppelin was one of the few CAT rental stores, along with Hewden in the UK, which ran a crane rental business. Its exit from the business is not surprising, CAT rental stores usually focus on CAT equipment and items that fit alongside and enhance the main business, such as access equipment and tools.
