The young Gordon Leicester had a different outlook on safety

The man is none other than powered access safety campaigner and owner of UK rental and safety training company Facelift. The considerably younger… and slimmer….Leicester needing to work on the chimney of this hotel, clearly considered that working from a concrete bucket suspended from a crane by a single chain was state of the art.

Rising through the air

The photos clearly show how far we have come, crane companies would even question doing this sort of thing with a proper man basket these days, let along an old bucket. While time forgives everything… this would have been frowned upon by many even back in 1987.
