The purchase price has not been disclosed. An affiliated company, Partners Construction Ltd., was not part of the transaction.

Larry MacDonald, general manager of A.W. Leil said: “The Partners acquisition significantly expands our fleet and adds further depth to our team of highly trained and dedicated managers, operators and support personnel. We are committed to providing the best possible service to customers and this transaction enhances our ability to deliver.”

The acquisition is backed by Halifax investment company SeaFort Capital, a relatively new company formed last March with its acquisition - A W Leil – made in November. Thorburn based Leil - has five offices and more than 60 employees.

Rob Normandeau, president of SeaFort Capital said: “We are pleased to make a further investment in A.W. Leil in support of a strategic acquisition that we believe sets the stage for additional measured expansion. It is exciting to be able to welcome the Partners employees to the A.W. Leil team.”

In addition to the A.W. Leil expansion, SeaFort says it plans to complete one or two further acquisitions this year. “We’ve got a pretty long list of opportunities that we’re working our way through,” added Normandeau.
