Boels signs with SmartEquip

Dutch rental company Boels has announced that it is joining the SmartEquip parts and service network in Europe.

The company hopes to use the SmartEquip software to reduce the cost of servicing and maintaining its fleet, and help increase equipment uptime. Boels also intends to conduct the electronic purchasing of parts and other items from manufacturers and their dealers via the Network, and expects to go live with the technology later this year.

Boels manager of fleet operations Guy Cremer said: “We are very pleased about this important step. By fleet value, more than half of our suppliers are already actively supporting their customers on the SmartEquip Network in North America. Over the past two years, we learned a great deal about how SmartEquip is used there, how it generates benefits not just for the equipment fleet owners, but also for the manufacturers and their dealers. We are now very much looking forward to sharing the same type of win-win partnership benefits with our suppliers in Europe.”

The company is the second company in Europe to join up, following Ramirent Sweden earlier this year - see: SmartEquip signs Ramirent
