Riwal acquires Sarens access

International aerial lift and telehandler rental group Riwal has opened a new operation in Belgium by acquiring the aerial work platform business of Sarens Belgium NV. The two companies say they will also “strengthen their cooperation to deliver the best customer experience whenever both aerial work platforms and heavy lifting services are required at the same sites”.

Riwal Belgium will be based in Genk in the Limburg province, with all the Sarens employees dedicated to the aerial work platform business employed by Riwal.

Riwal’s director for the region Pedro Torres said: “This acquisition will strengthen Riwal’s position on the Belgian market as we will be operating closer to both our existing and new customers. We will serve our Belgian customers from our new depot, as well as from existing Riwal depots in the South of the Netherlands (Dordrecht and Eindhoven area). The acquisition also improves our European coverage which is a strong benefit for our international key accounts”.

Established in 1968 and headquartered in The Netherlands,Riwal employs over 1000 people, has operations in 17 countries on 3 continents, and has an aerial work platform fleet of around 13,000 units.
