Construction Orders on the rise

Construction orders in the UK increasing strongly according to the latest Department of Trade and Industry statistics.

The latest department of trade and industry statistics show that in spite of a sluggish retail environment, the construction sector in the UK is shaping up well for 2006 with overall Construction orders climbing by four percent.

The strongest growth is in the Infrastructure category with a 31 percent rise in new orders for the 12 months to the end of August. The trend is on the increase, with a rise of 41 percent for the quarter, compared to the same period in 2004.

Housing, both private and public was also up while private commercial construction fell back in both the 12 months and the quarter, more than offset though by Private industrial construction.

Both categories, along with that of infrastructure, are good indicators for the Crane, aerial lift and Telehandler equipment sectors.
