First off the grid with new product announcements was Fassi/Socage with several new cranes and access platforms on display. In a press conference held as the show opened the company, celebrating its 40th year in business, held a press conference detailing its new product development plans.

One of the new Fassi cranes, the F800XP


The new products include a new range of loader cranes the Evolution series including the F240B and F260BXP with between 22 and 26 t/m lift capacity. The new features from this Evolution series will eventually extend to all Fassi cranes up to 45 t/m. At the heavier end is the new F800BXP while a new lift series is also being introduced.
Socage is showing the new 30 metre Cheyene TJ30 and TJ27.

The first Grove RT crane off of the new Italian production line, at SAIE today


Tadano showed off its new 65 tonne ATF65G in local company, Taglianvini's colours. The company also hinted that new products for 2006 will include a new five axle 220 tonne G series All Terrain.

The other big news is of course the merger of the Effer Group into CTE a meeting is scheduled for this evening, where the two companies are expected to reveal more details of their plans.

A surprise awaited on the Terex stand, in the form of a new telescopic Crawler crane prototype, the 45 tonne TCC45, with 37m main boom
