Ramirent beefs up telehandler business
Finnish based rental group Ramirent has acquired the telehandler business of Kurko-Koponen, the leading telehandler rental company in Finland.
The company has also signed a co-operation agreement with Kurko-Koponen for the provision of operated telehandler services. According to Ramirent this makes it the largest telehandler provider on the Finnish market.
The annual rental volume of the acquired telehandler business is around €6 million and under the agreement seven telehandler dedicated employees will transfer to Ramirent.
The market for telehandlers is growing in Finland, and Kurko-Koponen has been providing telehandler services to customers in building, infrastructure construction and various industrial sectors since 2010. Its current fleet is predominately made up of Merlo straight frames and Rotos, and it also runs some Manitous.

Ramirent’s executive vice president for Finland and the Baltic states, Anna Hyvönen said: “The acquisition complements our comprehensive equipment and service offering, enabling us to offer a wide selection of telehandlers combined with professional operator services. The acquisition also brings us new inroads to customer sectors such as construction, industrial maintenance, mining and bridge construction.”
Kurko-Koponen chairman Juha Koponen added: “At Kurko-Koponen we have the best telehandler operators in the market. Co-operating with Ramirent gives us the chance to develop further our operator services in Finland.”
