Norwegians arrive in Time

The Norwegian personal lifting association (PLF) held its annual meeting last week at the offices of Time International in Aalborg, Denmark.

The PLF is an association of buyers, sellers, importers and end users of personal lifting equipment in Norway.

The meeting included a demonstration of various access platforms and a tour of the manufacturing facilities. Unfortunately high winds and rain would not allow the 72 metre Ruthmann truck mounted lift to be used to its full extent, however the new Versalift VTX-240 was of particular interest. Mounted on a 3.5 tonne chassis, the unit has a large up and over reach and 24 metres working height.

Norway's PLF held its annual meeting at Time Denmark and had the chance to test a new Versalift VTX-240

Tommy Jensen of Oslo-based rental company Høydespesialisten was particularly taken by the new platform: “I was interested in a VTX-240 because it is a high quality product with local support and service,” he said. Jensen ordered one of the platforms mounted on Nissan Cabstar chassis via the Norwegian distributor Brubakken.

The final part of the visit was a competition where the guests tried to assemble a small lift vehicle out of Lego, with prizes to the fastest builders.

“I like to compare Time with Lego. Lego is the living proof that a successful export adventure is possible with production facilities in Denmark. All it takes is a well-defined product niche and innovative product design ensuring the products always exceeds the ever growing expectations and demands of customers,” said Time International's Per Torp.
