A completely new building, due for completion in 2016, is planned for the development and production of Common Rail fuel injection systems.
Liebherr Machines Bulle develops and produces diesel and gas engines, fuel injection systems, hydraulic components and splitter boxes used in its own equipment and customers outside the group.
The investment will add 9,000 square metres of space by 2016, substantially expanding diesel engine and common rail fuel injection capacity.
Liebherr says that the investment will secure the long-term future of the Bulle plant and create new skilled production jobs, as well as demand for more qualified engineers and specialists, for whom additional new offices will be built. It says the investment underlines the strategic importance of the Components division.
