Finland changes regs on transport platforms

Finnish based rental group Ramirent has taken delivery of 45 Geda transport platforms after the Finland’s Department of Occupational Safety and Health officially authorised the use of transport platforms on construction sites in Finland. Up until now the country’s national regulations had prevented the use of transport platforms for the transportation of people on building sites. This is no longer the case.

The order consists of 25 Geda 300 Z/ZPs and 20 500 Z/ZPs. Depending on the power supply the 300 transport platform has a 300 or 500kg capacity and a maximum lift height of 50 metres. The 500 transport platform can either be used to lift people up to 500kg or materials up to 850kg to a maximum height of 100 metres. Safety features fitted as standard include speed-dependant safety gear as well as safety stop and overload protection and limit switches on landing level safety gates.
