100 tonner for Berry
UK crane rental company Berry Cranes has taken delivery of a 100 tonne Grove GMK4100L.
The four axle All Terrain features a seven section 60 metre main boom, and is the largest crane in the company’s fleet. It will be used to help install/replace antennas throughout the UK, helping upgrade the telecom network from 3G to 4G.
Berry Cranes owner Neil Berry said: “We are seeing positive signs of market recovery as demand for our equipment increases. The GMK4100L is exactly the crane we need to meet these growing demands, which mostly involve construction and telecom projects. For telecom work in particular, we need a compact crane with excellent reach – and the GMK4100L is perfect for this.”

(L-R) Steve Barnett of Manitowoc Cranes delivers the new Grove GMK4100L to Neil Berry
Steve Barnett, managing director of Manitowoc UK added: “During the economic crisis, many larger fleet owners sent their cranes abroad. This has allowed smaller crane rental companies to win larger projects that might normally be contested by larger companies. It’s an exciting time and means our operations are busy.”
