Two STS cranes for Adelaide

Australian port operator Flinders Container Terminal has ordered two Liebherr Post Panamax ship to shore cranes for its terminal in Port Adelaide.

The ship to shore cranes have a waterside outreach of 50 metres and can lift 65 tonnes with its twin lift spreader and 80 tonnes with its hook beam. They also provide a lift over rail height of 38 metres, a span of 25.3 metres and a back reach of 20 metres.

Peter Cheers, general manager of Flinders Adelaide Container Terminal, said: “We conducted rigorous supplier evaluations as part of our procurement process and assessed this in-line with our long-run planning for the terminal. The Post Panamax Liebherr cranes were the best match for our requirements and will allow us to maximise the flow-on benefits for our customers.”
