A-Plant opens airport facility
UK tool and equipment rental company A-Plant has opened an on-site facility at Gatwick Airport to provide a range of equipment to Vinci Construction UK.
Vinci is the principal contractor for Gatwick’s £95 million project to demolish the airport’s South Terminal Pier 1 and replace it with new baggage and passenger gate rooms.
A-Plant’s on-site facility will offer a range of low level access equipment and electrical tools, with larger equipment fed in from the company’s Leatherhead service centre. A team will also be on hand to provide airside deliveries, engineers and sales support.

A-Plant’s district sales director for London and the South East, Graham Hawkins said: “Vinci Construction is one of our largest customers and we are delighted to be able to support the work at Gatwick Airport by providing an on-site facility. The airport market is relatively a new market for us, we have invested a lot of time and resources as part of our long term strategy to develop our offering, and to ensure we are equipped to deliver on a contract of this scale.”
