Negative start for Bronto
Finnish truck mounted lift manufacturer Bronto Skylift posted a first quarter loss on lower revenues, while order intake jumped over 50 percent.
Total revenues for the quarter fell 17 percent to $24.5 million, due to numerous first quarter deliveries being deferred until the second quarter. Order intake during the period however leapt 52 percent to $51.5 million, boosting the order book/backlog to $106.4 million from $85.2 million this time last year.
The company posted a loss of $800,000 compared to a profit of $700,000 in the same quarter last year. This was due to lower revenues and geographic and product mix towards lower margin business in the quarter.
Bronto is part of the US based group Federal Signal
