KDM invests £1.5m in facilities
Northern Ireland based rental company KDM Hire has invested £1.5 million in the upgrade and expansion of its Cookstown and Belfast facilities.
The investment includes additional covered and open yard storage space, extra pre-delivery check facilities and eight computer linked fuel pumping stations. New maintenance facilities and a large storage yard have also been added to incorporate the company’s K Cabin, accommodation and toilet hire division, while a new paint facility has been built, with the company anticipating more than 350 items of equipment to be refurbished and painted each year. Other work includes enhancements to existing workshops, a new sales office and modifications to its trade shop in Cookstown.

KDM managing director Keith McIvor, said: “In the hire business you often focus on investment in new hire equipment and sometimes investment in facilities can be secondary. With close on 80 employees operating out of two locations we needed to ensure our staff were provided with the proper equipment and conditions to do the job. This, in turn, offers a better product and service for our customers.”
