200 telehandler order for JCB
UK based rental company Plant Hire UK has placed an order for more than 200 JCB telehandlers in a deal worth £11 million.
Supplied through JCB’s dealer Gunn JCB the order consists of JCB’s telehandlers with lift heights ranging between four and 20 metres. All models have been fitted with JCB’s Tier 4i/ Stage IIIB Ecomax engines as well as the company’s LiveLink telematics and immobiliser systems.
Developed to meet the EU Stage IIIB/US Tier 4 Interim emissions standards, the Ecomax Tier 4i engines do not require diesel particulate filters (DPFs) or exhaust after treatment fluids, which - the company claims - results in up to seven percent improved fuel economy and 15 percent more torque.

Plant Hire UK managing director Graham Jones said: “We are a relatively young company and in the space of nine years have achieved a tremendous rate of growth, illustrated by the fact we have now purchased more than 1,500 JCB machines. One of the keys to our success is having a young and modern fleet and all of our JCB Loadalls are under two years old. Our telehandler fleet is also exclusively JCB: that’s a conscious decision we’ve made, driven by our customers who demand the JCB product.”
