MEC and Omega go exclusive

US aerial lift manufacturer MEC has appointed the Netherlands based Omega group as its exclusive dealer for the Benelux region.

As part of the agreement the Dutch company will maintain an inventory of new machines and replacement parts, while providing warranty, service, and training support from its base in De Lier.

Last year the two companies agreed to set up the MEC Europe/MEC Distribution Centre for the Central Europe region, as a joint operation although this was on a non-exclusive basis. The two companies will be together next week on a MEC stand at Apex.

Omega’s Leen Stehouwer said: “The MEC product line is a perfect fit for Omega, our customers rely on us to provide them with the latest technology and the best solution available in today’s market. MEC being a proven market leader in innovative products compliments exactly what it is that our customers are looking for. As the MEC Central European distribution and support centre, we are able to provide customers with newly stocked machines, service, maintenance, and training.”

Jim Tolle of MEC added: “The Omega Group has already proven themselves as a valuable asset by providing distribution services within central Europe. Recognising them as the authorised agent for the Benelux market fits right in with our marketing strategy, partnering with companies that are present in the identified market, know the market and have existing relationships with the customers within the market.”

“This new alliance will allow customers throughout Central Europe to receive MEC products much faster. Omega has already begun to bring in the newest MEC products, absorbing the factory lead time for our customers. We share the same philosophy, providing our customers with the best possible equipment through the latest innovative solutions. This partnership strengthens our ability to maintain excellent customer support and provide the most up to date training throughout Central Europe.”

Omega builds a range of special scissor lifts on tracked chassis and modifies telehandlers for special applications. It has also worked with Snorkel some time and is the manufacturer’s official distributor for the Netherlands. It also handles Merlo telehandlers and Pop-Up push around lifts.
