Terex shifts Demag production

Terex is relocating North American production of its Demag overhead cranes from Houston to its newly upgraded facility in Oklahoma.

Terex recently invested $40 million at its Oklahoma facility, after selling several product lines previously manufactured there. Located on a 100 acre site the 65,000 square metre facility currently manufactures aerial work platforms, cranes and material processing equipment. Its sales and service network in Houston, Dallas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana remain unaffected and will continue to provide local support to customers.

John Paxton, vice president of Terex Material Handling North America, said: “This move will help us align with increasing customer demand by more than doubling our crane manufacturing capacity, while continuously serving our customers in the growing southwest and southeast markets. By taking advantage of manufacturing synergies at Oklahoma, we will further improve our overhead crane manufacturing processes and increase efficiency.”
