New 29 metre spider from Multitel

Multitel is extending its range of spider lifts with the addition of the 29 metre SMX 290 HD. The new model follows on from the heavy duty version of the smaller 25 metre SMX 250.

The first of the new SMX 290HD platforms will be delivered to UK spider platform rental specialist Higher Access Platforms next month.

The new SMX 290 HD is designed along the same lines but offers over 29 metres of working height and 14.6 metres of outreach. Powered by the same Kubota Z150T diesel engine the 290 HD has a 1.6 metre long basket with 270kg capacity and standard or narrow outrigger jacking modes.

The new SMX 290HD features more than 29 metres of working height and 14.6 metres of outreach

When configured with its narrow jacking the unit has a width of only 3.6 metres and retains its full 380 degree turret rotation, working envelope and full working height. It also has an electric motor power option and can therefore be operated both indoors and outdoors. In transit mode it measures 6.3 metres long.
