Cramo acquires BMS
Finnish international rental group Cramo has acquired the equity of local rental company BMS Uthyrning with operations in Kalmar and Nybro, South East Sweden.
BMS has a strong position in the region, particularly in the access market. It operates from two locations, with revenues in 2013 of SEK 10.5 million (€1.1 million) and seven employees. The non-rental related parts of BMS will be disposed of before the acquisition completes. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.
BMS owner and managing director Per Eriksson, has agreed to stay in the company for a two year period and to take an active part in the integration of the company into Cramo.
Erik Bengtsson, managing director of Cramo Sweden said: “We know that Cramo has an attractive offering. But we also know that BMS has been strong in certain customer segments where we have been so far less successful. So this is a golden opportunity for both of us to learn from each other, which in turn is beneficial for our customers.”
Eriksson added: “This is an interesting possibility for me and BMS to help develop the company into an attractive and strong partner to all contractors and construction companies in the region.”
Cramo Sweden district manager Jonas Ohlson, who will be responsible for the integration, said: “The acquisition is a perfect match which goes hand in hand with our Best in Town strategy. Following the deal we will move Cramo’s local operation into the same facilities as BMS, thereby increasing our resources and possibilities to serve our customers, while at the same time reducing costs. The acquisition will also give us a strong foothold for further development at Nybro.”
