Steil takes two Liebherrs
German heavy lifting and haulage company Steil Kranarbeiten has taken delivery of a 500 tonne LTM 1500-8.1 and a 60 tonne LTM 1060-3.1 All Terrain crane.
The LTM 1500-8.1 features a seven section, 84 metre main boom and a 91 metre luffing fly jib which provides a 145 metre maximum under hook height and 108 metre maximum working radius. The company said the crane will be used in the wind power industry, particularly for repowering jobs, while the three-axle LTM 1060 will be used for lower weight, regional hoisting work.
Birgit Steil, managing director of Steil Kranarbeiten, said: “The LTM 1500-8.1 provides massive versatility and its 84-metre telescopic boom makes it suitable for special jobs which conventional cranes in the same load capacity class simply cannot handle. We buy from Liebherr because their technology is reliable and their cranes hold their value. In addition we can rely on good after-sales service from Liebherr.”
