First MLC165 for Mexico
Mexican crane rental company Grúas Villarreal has taken delivery of the first 165 tonne Manitowoc MLC165 lattice-boom crawler crane in Mexico.
The MLC165 offers a maximum 84 metre main boom with the option of a fixed or luffing jib. The maximum system length with fixed jib is 93.4 metres (69m main + 24.4m jib) with the luffing jib this increases to 102.8 metres (51m main + 51.8m jib). The crane will be used on the country’s largest plastic production project, Ethylene XXI, at the start of next year.
Cynthia Villarreal, Grúas Villarreal general manager, said: “We know we can depend on Manitowoc cranes for complex projects such as the Ethylene XXI. The MLC165 was the best candidate to join our fleet because it’s a crane that’s quick to set up and can work on all sorts of lifting jobs.”
