Liebherr takes RTG orders

Liebherr Container Cranes has received several orders for 17 environmentally-friendly variable speed and electric rubber tyred gantry cranes.

DP Asian Terminals has ordered five variable speed drive rubber tyred gantry cranes for its Manila harbour terminal. Offering a one over six configuration, the 41 tonne gantry cranes can stack up to six-plus-one containers wide and feature Liebherr’s DGPS auto steering, its eight-rope reeving anti-sway, box positioning and stack profiling systems.

On the island of Mayotte, off the coast of Africa, the Port of Longoni has ordered the first four electric Liebherr rubber tyred gantry cranes. Scheduled for delivery in 2015, the cranes have a one over five configuration and can stack seven-plus-one containers wide.

Finally, Brazilian port operator Porto Chibatão has ordered eight electric/diesel rubber tyred gantry cranes for its terminal in Manaus. The 40.6 tonne cranes have a one over six configuration and can stack up to eight containers wide.
