Union confirms UK tower crane strikes
Tower crane operators at UK rental company HTC will hold three 24 hour strikes on successive Fridays, starting this week.
The UCATT construction workers union made the announcement following last week’s vote by operators to go ahead with the stoppages in order to push for a 10 to 20 percent pay increase, in order, they say, to restore total earning levels to pre-recession levels.
HTC tower cranes are employed on a number of high profile sites in London, including Network Rail’s London Bridge development and a major scheme in Victoria.
