Singapore-based heavy lifting and haulage company Tiong Woon Crane & Transport has taken delivery of five 300 tonne Grove GMK6300L All Terrain cranes – one of the single largest orders Manitowoc has received for its GMK6300L.
The six-axle GMK6300L features a seven section 80 metre main boom and a 29 metre bi-fold swingaway extension which provides a 120 metre maximum tip height. Features include Megatrak independent suspension and all-wheel steering. The crane will be used to carry out a variety of industrial and construction projects across the Southeast Asia region.
Tiong Woon chairman, Ang Kah Hong, said: “Grove cranes are very popular units with our customers. When the Grove GMK6300L was launched in 2010 we could see that its onboard innovation gave it capabilities that other cranes didn’t have, particularly with its 80 metre boom. We watched the arrival of the first units in Asia with interest and quickly realized that this crane would be a great solution for many of our customers. It was only a matter of time until we ordered our own, and we saw such strong potential for the GMK6300L that we ordered five units.”
The Tiong Woon fleet, which includes 18 Grove All Terrain and Rough Terrain cranes, serves the region’s oil and gas, petrochemical, infrastructure, and construction sectors. The company is also the distributor for IHI crawler cranes for south east Asia, excluding Indonesia, Jaso tower cranes in Singapore and Malaysia, XCMG products in Southeast Asia, Smarter telescopic crawler cranes in Singapore, Thailand and Malaysia and Zoomlion tower cranes in Singapore and Heifei.
